Rick McIntyre Named Group CEO | January 2024
Effective January 1, 2024, Rick McIntyre has been named group CEO for the precision manufacturing platform supported by L Squared Capital Partners, and currently consisting of three separate and distinct Business Units (“BU”), ERA Industries (Chicago, IL), Gen El Mec (Oxford, CT) and I3D Manufacturing (Redmond, OR).
Rick comes to the organization having previously served in various leadership roles, most recently and notably as the CEO of GWS Tool Group from 2017 – 2023. GWS Tool Group is a US based, vertically integrated manufacturer of cutting tools, used by premier precision manufacturers across virtually all industrial end markets.
Rick joined GWS during its first cycle of private equity sponsorship, when it was still a relatively small business with a single manufacturing site in central Florida. He left GWS a few short years later as one of the largest precision cutting tool manufacturers in North America, now a division of Sandvik Machining Solutions. On that journey, Rick oversaw the completion of thirteen (13) add-on acquisitions and the integration of those companies into a unified and dynamic platform, explosive growth and ultimately the successful 2021 merger with the Sandvik organization. In this new role with our organization, Rick will be responsible for the oversight of all aspects of this broader organization. All Business units will report up directly to Rick and additional platform level leadership which Rick brings online around him. Rick holds a BA from Furman University, an MBA from Marylhurst University and a Juris Doctorate from Barry University School of Law.
